On the new standard 7.5 GTI with standard sat nav, can anybody tell me if you have to pay for voice activation or surely it must be standard as a basic feature to have with the Bluetooth phone setup?
-
Its included with NavPro and a paid for extra with basic nav.
While I've not seen the MIB3 implementation, if its anything like the MIB1 NavPro I had on my old 2014 GTD, I'd not spend money on it - its slow, clunky and pretty worthless IMHO

I had a quick play with the MIB3 in an R Line in my local showroom. When you pressed the voice button in the bottom left a message popped up on screen about contacting the dealer for an activation code.
So it's built into the system but you have to pay to unlock it. Don't know if that has to be done before you buy or whether it's something that can be done later.

You can activate it later. Similar to AppConnect in mib2 units.
Totally not worth the bother though imo.

It's much more expensive to activate voice control after you've got your car. I've got it on my nav pro and it's only been used twice, pretty naff really and rarely understands my accent.
