They are very cool.
Have you had them powder coated?
-
Yes powder coated anthracite.. glad i did .
-
It's definitely the way forward if you kerb more than one diamond cut wheel.
-
None of the wheels were marked , I just didn't like the diamond cut. wanted to keep car original but with a slight change
-
Have you got a full car side on pic? They look good.
-
That looks spot on.
-
Looks good against the black of the mudflaps and side skirts.

Fantastic!
I'd be really interested to see a set of Austins given the same treatment.
-
They do look well I had a set of mutispokes fitted to a previous car in shadow chrome as and when the time comes and the dreaded whiteworm gets hold il be torn between anthracite and shadow chrome lol

No picture available of them on the car by any chance? Cheers.

I think this may be the future for my Austins- wonder if this would make any difference to the value come trade in time?
-
I do love my Austins but it's definitely food for thought

Maybe if trading in at a VW dealership, as they could say it's no longer OEM and they'd need to get the wheels refurbished as diamond cut again - any excuse to reduce the trade in price! If trading in at at non-VW dealership; probably no impact on the trade in price you're given.
When I took my mk6 GTD to my local VW dealer to appraise for trade-in, it had a much nicer (IMO) set of anthracite powder coated VW Rotary alloys on. Dealer wanted the original diamond cut Charleston alloys put back on before I traded it in, although I suspect some dealers would've been happy to take it with the Rotarys on.
I sold the Rotarys, and put the money I got from the sale towards a set of anthracite powder coated VW Motorsport alloys for my Polo GTI. The original diamond cut alloys with Bridgestone tyres that came with the Polo are in storage, ready to go back on the car when I eventually sell it.

Looking good, did you get your roof bars painted too? I notice the aren't the silver colour I have.
How much did the centre caps set you back? I fancy these myself but the price varies online, some ridiculous.
-
Yes i had the roof bars done anthracite to match wheels . Centre caps were £58 i think

Yeah, this is what I thought,I bet they will try to nip 4/500 quid off the trade in to refurb the wheels.

Not sure about the Austins maybe better with the inner bit kept black.
Currently got 3 needing repaired 2 already been done so don't know if they will take another cut.
