Hi guys I've only owned mk4s and as much as I need to know about different models etc with mk4. But now I'm in strange water looking at mk5. I'm leaning towards the gt tdi 170bhp but need opinions on dsg! Is it a welcome addition or not? Also what is the sort after diesel model for power/cost to run.
Thanks for help

Things I'd look for are the DPF with no issues. It might be in part of VW's recall for emissions and therefore subject to a DVLA enforced recall for ECU update. The 170is quick and pulls well. Lesser BHP model often more desirable but can't remember why....Rust on wings and sills as per the advice given to me for my drivers wing. Rear springs seem common as do the cailipers. DSG must be serviced. Pros and cons to the box. I love it though.
