Title: Service indicator confused !

Just had my gtd 1st long life service car now saying oil service 18800 miles or 730days and inspection 20000 miles or 365days . Is this right surely both should read 730 days as long life service is every 24 month ?

Yep, that's right.
Long life is after max of 24 months or 30Mm. Bet you only had oil change now, didn't you?
After first 20k/24 months inspection (!= oil change service) inspection interval reduces to 12 months (or 20k whichever happens first).
