Yesterday I was driving past the JCT at Meadowhead in Sheffield and I decided to drop in and see what interesting cars they had in, they had quite a few used GTI/GTD and I think 4 used fairly basic spec "R"s.
Anyway in the showroom was a nice shiney black R with cadiz alloys and at first squint I thought it was a Mk7,especially with the wheels.
I had a second look and realised it was after all a 7.5. It had the new digital clocks and the large new shiny infotainment screen (looks like a fingerprint fest to me tho!) black leather seats and I think that was the lot on it.
All in all a nice new update and I think with those cadiz on it you could easily walk past it and not realise it was the facelift version.
Any ideas why it was sporting the "old" cadiz alloys BTW?
So if any of you fancy a squint at the new R it was there yesterday (Thursday) :nerd:

the 18" Cadiz are still the standard wheel in the UK on the 7.5.
Those Spielberg 19's are an option, as well as the prets.
The Spielbergs are standard in Ireland.

Initially, I wasn't too keen on the facelift Golf, but I think it's a case of giving it time to get used to how it looks. I quite like it now and think the R in Indium Grey with The 19" Pretorias looks very nice.
As to why the black R you saw yesterday had Cadiz alloys; these are stil the standard wheel on the mk7.5

The Cadiz wheels have grown on me recently and I think they actually suit the car very well.

Ah,thanks I see,I didn't realise the cadiz were still standard.
