Just saw this video and thought I'd post it here and see what the reaction is. One of the first customers with a facelift Golf R comparing it to a facelift Audi S3.

For me the S3 has a better interior and looks slightly better. The S3 exhaust seems to get more pops and bangs but as the guy said it could be because the Golf R hasn't been run in yet. Golf R has the better seats but they aren't leather. Golf R feels more 'racey' and playful. The Golf R being a bit cheaper with bigger discounts is the better value for money but the S3 got the better tech and interior quality.

Saw this earlier, decent enough video if only to show off the facelift R. The S3 is so bland looking, particularly in black, think the R looks much better. The S3 alloys don't do anything for it either.
Yeah, the Audi has the better finish inside, but the R is hardly miles away, the new tech in the facelift brings it in line with the Audi. Also, I prefer the cloth seats of the R, leather may look good but unless you have a seriously bolstered seat then you're sliding around when pushing around corners.
All in all, I would certainly pick the R over the S3 every day of the week.

Looks are always personal preference. Just like the R, you have options for the alloys (1 extra option for the S3 with the Black Edition car). I wouldn't say the tech in the R is inline with the S3, the virtual cockpit is a lot better than AID but it is an option compared to the R that has AID for free. I agree with the cloth seats but I think you can customise the interior of the S3 more than the R. For me you can't go wrong with either car which is why I'm having trouble choosing.

Good vid, if just for getting a good view of the Indium Grey.

Audi cars don't have right foot rests. If you use cruise control a lot it is a right pain in the ar.. knee. Or is that a pain in the right knee
That is my biggest gripe about our A3.
(Ok the A1 has a space to rest your right foot.)
I also think the new lights have given the Golf a much sportier style. The Audi has a more reserved style.

Has anyone else noticed that the exact Indium grey facelift R featured in this video now appears to be up for sale on Auto Trader (private sale, London area, £38,000)?

Yeah, the guy who made the video also posted an image of the car for sale on his instagram.
