Only £7 a month more for an R over the GTi!!! Won't be many Gtis ordered me thinks. Yes a bit more fuel and insurance but think it would be pretty tempting.
-
5 door manual GTi is £222 per month so even cheaper than listed above.

I'd probably take the GTI as I have to admit a stock R bores me sh!tless these days
-
I have to agree that seeing the 2 facelifted cars in the flesh, the new GTI front end does look better to me.
-
I went for this one in the end:
http://www.neva.direct/personal-lease-cars/volkswagen/golf-hatchback/golf-hatchback-20-tsi-gti-5dr-153729852
They knocked a bit more off for only 5000 miles
-
That's a pretty nice deal on the GTi you got. Did you go for any extras and which colour? When are you expecting delivery?

£10 a month less for a proper gearbox https://www.centralukvehicleleasing.co.uk/vehicle/choose_your_lease/78447/volkswagen/golf/20_tsi_gti_5dr.html
£230 less over the full term which might not sound a lot if you're used to spending your food budget on drive through burger joints (if changing gear is too hard work for you then cooking is going to be far too much of a challenge  ) or like sitting in traffic jams* but considering you're going to hand the thing back after 2 years then that's £230 you'll never see again...
*obviously if you have a medical reason to require a DSG you're excused from my light hearted rationale

Only another £10 per month to increase miles from 5k to 8k seems a decent price to me.
Tempting
Are these facelift models for sure?
-
a bit of a bargain, never mind tempting!
Definitely the FL car, it mentions sweeping indicators in the spec plus piano black centre console.

Looks like it with 8-10weeks delivery time but a phone call to them would confirm

Wish I could settle for a standard black car with 18" wheels and not drive too much as its mega cheap. Problem comes when I "need" to add metallic paint as I won't have black, 19" wheels because I can't get on with the new 18" GTI wheel and then need a few more miles too.
-
Thats what, say, £500 for paint and £1000 for wheels... the paint probably adds nothing to the lease cost and the wheels are £40 per month.
£40 per month... I'd have to really hate looking at those 18's... I mean, REALLY hate looking at them to be giving £40 a month to someone for them.
I'd feel happier buying my own 19's and swapping them over - at least I'd have a set of wheels I'd paid for at the end for that.
-
I phoned and asked for Mat paint and maintenance it went up to £189 its a VWFS offer so I called my dealer and cancelled my order and reordered saved £170 a month !

You could get some used austin wheels from ebay and use them for the lease period, assuming you have storage space for four wheels. At the end sell the austin's back on ebay.

Vwfs offers a lease? I've never seen that before
-
I got a quote today via a broker and its with VWFS via a local dealer.
So is the GTi on a special promotion whereas the R and GTD are not at this stage?
-
VW Dealers will be able to offer the same as the brokers as its VWFS offer so you could save on the admin fees going direct.

Golf R Estate , £2000 down, £169.99/month, 5000 miles
Golf R, 3 door, £2000 down, £210.39/month, 5000 miles
Central Uk vehicle leasing , all + vat.
-
the current GTi lease deals look to be over for now, my sister dragged her heels all day and then went for it when it was too late, she's sent in finance applications to 2 different lease outfits in the hope there's still a slot available, shell find out in the morning.

Got my R Estate through VWFS via my dealer and was cheapest I had seen out there
I was aware of some cracking deals on GTI last week and waiting to see what is around this time next year.
-
CVL today for 5 door manual
£2300
£191 x 23
5000 miles
-
My GTD 7.5 in White/Silver from a VW dealer £2000 deposit, 15k a year over 3 years, £292 a month on a PCH..
-
I can't find anything even remotely like this through CVL.
Is it worth trying the dealer to see if there's anything close with WVFS?
-
I tried loads of online lease (PCH) companys, but played three VW dealers off against each other in the end, even got a mug and a t-shirt thrown in to clinch the deal

Same. One dealer was struggling to give me 10% off. But using Drivethedeal as a bargaining tool I managed to get around 15% off! Basically got the same GTI which was completely stock that one dealer was offering me but with Brescias, velour trim, metallic paint and privacy glass for £1 less per month. Happy days.
-
Just be aware.... Not that it might bother some.
Some of these "lease deals" may be for cars that have already been built. It could mean that they were the first batch of builds and so there is a good chance they are missing the foglights. If it doesn't matter to you then fine, but if it is a built car, it will be worth asking the supplier to have the build spec checked.
I understand that a lot of delivered GTi's and GTD's have been refused by the buyers and these will find their way into dealer stock and used by VWFS to try and offload.
Again, no worries if no fog lights isnt an issue, but better to be informed before the car arrives :)

Anyone got a decent lease deal on a 5 door GTI with 12,000 miles a year allowance? Most deals seems to be 5k miles and shoot up in price after this.
-
Crewe VW were offering 10k miles for about £260 per month on a 6+23 profile via Whatcar Leasing. However it disappeared from the site yesterday I think. Manual gearbox and black rubin paint only.
Hopefully it may come back at some point.

If its with VWFS and you take the 5,000 mile option, after six month they will quote you for higher mileages. Their quotes will be lower than if you stick with 5,000 and paid the extra mileage fee at the end of the hire.

Might try that. If I went to the dealers would they p/x my current car in against a lease deal? Don't want PCP. Probably not is my guess?
-
You cannot part exchange your car against a lease deal as you are not actually purchasing the new car. But most dealers will give you a price for your current car as a purchase, particularity if its same marque they sell and not too old - obviously that will vary a lot and will almost always be less then you could sell it for privately.
-
Managed to find a 3 year deal - 10,000 miles a year 6 Months down and 35 months at £320.66
This is for DSG with the Art Velour seats as options, decent deal? Most of the deals I find are 2 years and I reckon ill want it a bit longer than that!
I can sell my current car for around £6.5k to put against this, so effectively brings the payments down too.
What do we think?
-
Over 13k to borrow a GTI for 3 years - doesn't sound a cracking deal.

Have you ordered one?
I've got a GTi DSG 5dr coming on a 10k pa business lease, it was 9+23 for £224.60 + vat with metallic.
Fitted in with my budget and seemed a decent deal. Probably wouldn't lease one personally as it's a big chunk of money to hire a car for 2 or 3 years. But you never have much to worry about in terms of other costs.
Freedom Contracts have just put Mk7.5 Golf R Est on at £211 + vat today!
-
If you're lookingfor a business lease it's 211 yeah.

Hi All,
I am on the verge of buying a 2 year old one, but this seems like a very good deal, if I didn't want options, presume could get one relatively quickly?
-
If you're not fussy about colour or spec then you've more chance of getting one quickly.
However if you had been planning to buy then you should maybe ask yourself how long you intended to keep it. Leasing can lose its appeal the more you increase the term. Other than that, the current lease deals are hard to beat. But be quick, last time the GTI deal was on it sold out in 24 hours.
-
Thanks, 2 years is good for me.
-
Ive been using the HPI valuation tool on current 2-3 year old cars, to see what they will be worth in 2 years time. It seems trade in value, they loose £3k a year, so a 2 year lease at £6500, with no big expenses due to it being new, seems like a good deal to me.

Also don't forget if buying outright you'd need to allow for interest/finance charges on top (unless paying cash), making the lease and even better deal.

Got an email come through yesterday from Central UK Leasing for business deal:

Not sure, can't seem to see it on the site. Mine is 5.23p + vat per mile up to a 10k excess over the 2yr period.
-
Sorry no, a quick call or email will sort it, or have a look on the PH forums where they are widely discussed.

I ordered an R estate from CVL yesterday and the excess on that is 10.8p inc VAT. For me it will likely equate to £18pm on top of the £318pm I am paying (1+23 schedule).

Its cheaper to get a higher mileage allowance from VWFS if you are definitely going to go over the limit. It works out at around half what you would have paid if you just accepted the additional mileage penalty at the end (I raised mine from 5k to 10k), although they would not discuss this until I was six months in to the lease.

100% be going over, I do about 12k a year. I've emailed CVL and Yes Lease who haven't got back to me on the excess mileage charges yet. But they did tell me these offers are strictly on standard GTI's manual or DSG, I've been told I can add a colour of my choice for £18.13 extra per month, but no other options... I wanted Brescia's but they seem unwilling to add this.
-
If you have a look on Whatcar leasing deals site there are different terms and mileage allowances advertised, direct from franchised dealers.
-
I have ordered direct from a dealer and have been able to add 19" wheels so problem.
-
Re: The offer at CVL that was mentioned earlier this week, I have gone for it, but at a difference company I had been previously recommended. They said there was a certain number of regular GTIs coming in in Sept/Oct, and I could only spec colour, which is fine with me. I'll find out later if I got one.

Ordered mine through a broker in middle of May and it was one on the ALD deal. Cars had slots allocated and managed to get an Indium Grey but wasn't able to add options. Car arrived at dealer last week so just waiting for delivery now as paperwork was slow.
