I have a black mk4 and have bought a new rear boot handle but was wondering if it needed to be primed and painted or if I can just fit? The new handle is black so would match the car, but just wondering if it needs to be sprayed?? Many thanks

painting will help against the corrosion that the handle seems to suffer with

Many thanks, the part was not that expensive compared with getting it sprayed so might just put it on, many thanks
