Having a few issues with my GTD Dsg 66 plate anyone else had this error Starter Enable from selector level sensor system 10763
-
That's not over cranking at start? Fails to fire and when it does you get "auto start stop error"?
-
Yes every now and then it's cranks over and over and struggles to fire when it does chuck a load of whites moke out.
Don't think I have had an error it's always managed to fire.
-
My GTD never went anywhere close to not starting first time. I'd get your dealer to check it out. Might be a dodgy component somewhere.
-
It's in today with them only 5 months old got about 3700 miles on it always ran on shell/bp fuels.
Given the print out as I know there's faults so they can fob me off.

If this code showed up when you scanned with VCDS/OBD11 it probably is the fact you scanned with the engine running and it's a false alarm. It's been documented that it shows up if you do a live scan. If you clear it, turn off and re-scan it should not pop-up (unless you have a real issue). I was panicking the first week when I did a scan on my brand new CS "just to check" and this showed up together with a bunch of others DSG "faults" only because I did a live scan and not one with the engine off. Hope it's the same for you.

This was scanned when the engine was off

The over cranking thing is quite common - I suspect its this.
I believe there is a fix, but I've not had it done on mine despite it being in the shop only the other day.
My GTD has done this from almost day 1 and after 3 years, it still does it a couple of times a week.
Not really a problem, other than being a bit embarrassing in the factory car park!
-
My dealer is saying no fix for the cranking over apparently there is a software update other people have said I'll find which dealer they have sent to and get it sorted !
I don't think they can be arsed to sort it
-
A lot of the fixes for things don't seem to get applied by every dealer. Unless its either a recall notice fault or one where the owner is experiencing a directly resulting problem, they don't bother.
Seems a bit weird coming from where I am at work!
I suppose VW won't pay them to do non-problem causing updates... but when its software you'd think they'd just flash everything in a system wide update.
-
I willing to travel do a dealer willing to do it. does your local one do it? My local dealer don't seem bothered etc when it's 32 k motor you want it right. Where do you work at vw by any chance
-
No my dealer is crap and I don't work for VW :)
-
Mine are the same went in the faults on the ecu they said they couldnt find them but when i scanned it at home they cleared all faults off the Ecu twits.
-
I've went in to my dealer with a couple of VCDS faults before and their system couldn't replicate this.
-
Cleared the errors... Yeah that's fixed it ;-)
-
Yeh i no ! even had the cheek to say i cleared the faults ran it on poor fuel etc when its on vpower only etc ill be getting a video and going to another dealer. Hopefully does it tomorrow morning that would please me !
