I have just booked my car in for a service but they have nothing on the computer confirming my free service[vw finance deal £149 x 2 service] did anybody get this posted out to them from vw in writing, I cant remember getting any through but I do remember the sales person telling me it will be on the computer whenI come to book it in.
-
Mines logged on the system. The supplying sales man is supposed to register the service pack I think.
-
It should be on your bill of sale
-
Its not free if it costs £149
-
Are you taking it to the same dealer as you purchased it from as mine was the same and it turned out they had put the service pack on for the dealer I purchased it off instead of the VW dealer network.
-
Same dealer and it is on the receipt, the only problem is they got the registration no. wrong and had to find me a new one when I arrived to pick the car up, apparently they had unwittingly pre registered another car with it.....but the chassis no is still correct.
When I booked it in for the service they said they had no record of the servicing package and other than the receipt with the wrong reg. But right chassis no. I have nothing.

I bet the car on the other reg has a truly free service pack...yours!
If a service pack is clearly stated on your invoice and you've paid for it, make sure the supplying dealership pays for your first 2 services, either with them or the dealership of your choosing if you're miles away from them. It is their mistake you haven't got something you paid for registered to your car. I'll be mighty peeved if it turns out I fon't have the 5 year warranty I paid for.

I bought the 3 year plan.I got a letter from VW Finance confirming it soon after.

True.I'd just take the sales invoice along and say 'job done'.Their problem if they are paying out for 2 lots of servicing.

Make a 'Subject access request' under Data Protection Act, they can charge £10 for this, but have to provide copies of all information they hold relating to you. If they fail to comply, contact the Information Commissioner.
-
That's a bit heavy handed surely? You just need to get either the dealer or vw uk or even better vw finance to check and sort.
-
When I took mine last October the dealer gave me a separate form for the service pack with my car details. They gave me the usual "is in our system anyway" but I was keen they give me something in writing and they happily obliged.

I am going to ring them again tomorrow as I don't want to leave it until the day I turn up....my feeling is its been put on another car with the first registration number as was given then replaced.
