Title: Advice on tyres
Post by: PabloDiablo on 05 February 2017, 21:03
Looking for views on best front tyres for my 61-plate GTI DSG with Monza 18s.....size is 225/40R18 92W.

I don't switch to winter tyres so looking for something that can handle all seasons. Any brands to avoid? Any standout winners?

Thanks in advance....

Another vote for Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric here. Had the version 2 fitted when my wheels were refurbed just after I got the car. They lasted 35,000 miles before I switched to the latest version 3. Brilliant tyre and good value too imo. Never had an issue with them come rain, snow or shine.

I just look at Black Circles website and see which tyres currently have the best rating and buy them.

I've had the Goodyear Eagle F1 - a good all round tyre.

Last change of tyres I went for the Hankook Ventus S1 Evo2 (K117) - great value for money in comparison and just as good in my experience to date.

Buy from mytyres or tyreleader (both german companies) for the best price.

+1 for the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric tyres

The A2 is not longer around so I've got new A3 version on mine now, feel the same but apparently a bit better according to the spec sheets and reviews

EDIT: Always chose these on my old MK5 and MK6 GTI
