My drivers door is making an awful creaking metal on metal clunk when I open and close it . Anyone else had a similar issue. Appears to be coming from the hinges area

As stated will just need a touch of spray grease or wd40 to cure it

Dracula used to have the same problem when he opened his coffin lid.....spray with white grease!

Check the door sills with car door opened for small scratches. My previous GTD had a drivers door that was hung slightly too low and as such scraped on the VW original (and fitted) door sill protectors. Made a bit of a mess of mine and needed the under surface of the front door reprinting as it had broken the paint and started to spot rust.
To be fair my original GTD was an early 2013 model and I think they have sorted it since. Might be worth checking though if the hinges seem ok ?

Mine did the same, a bit of oil followed up by some white lithium grease cured it.
