Considering buying one of these, can anyone tell me from experience whether I need version 1 or 2?

I don't think there's anything to tell whether you need v1 or v2 except looking under the car unfortunately.
I just put my mobile phone on a timer and laid it on a bit of wood and popped it under the car to see.
Also, when fitting, if you struggle with your socket being too big to fit in the hole in the insert (when reinserting the bolt) then a spark plug socket seems to have thinner walls.

As above except I used my lanky arm to get it on video to get every angle. I got mine from those guys as well and no regrets about it at all.

Thanks for the advice...

Old thread but how is the car for vibrations with these?
I had a poly one on my mk6 and it did make vibrations on start up a bit more but eventually settled down

Had one on mine but was too noisy for my liking. Was only on for 2 weeks but I read they settle down because they loosen up, i.e. become less effective.

thanks
most of the reviews i have read say they're pretty good for NVH compared to the rubber types.

I'd go for this mate.
Awesome GTI can source it for you.

Thanks I might give it a go. The engine really moves around when you lift off the gas.
-
Does the CSS use the standard mount? After all of the bespoke suspension fitted, I would have expected upgraded mounts to be part of the spec?
-
The subframe is from an S3 and the front uprights are bespoke but otherwise more or less the same.
Been under the car and mine looks like version 2

Tried one on my 7.5R and the NVH was awful. The whole shook on start-up. Removed it a couple of weeks later and the difference was shocking. SuperPro engine mounts are the way to go if you don’t want increased NVH but they’re not cheap.

I had power flex ones on my mk6 and the vibration when staring up from cold was worse and occasionally dying driving
I removed the poly bush and trimmed some of the edges off and drilled a Few holes in it and it was spot on

I the aluminium insert, but I find I still get wheel hop occasionally so I am thinking of getting one of these:

Mine does still occasionally wheel hop with the 034 insert in, if you do get the racing line one you'll have to let us all know how good it is.
