Hello,
We have a GTI on a 2 year lease based on 5000 mpa and i was just wondering when to service it or if i will even need to before it goes back?
Car arrived in April 2016 and by April 2017 it will have circa 4500 miles on it and by April 2018 circa 9000 miles on it.
Do you think it needs a service after 1 year with 4500 miles on it or just before it goes back in 2 years or do you think we will get away with sending it back before it's 2 years old without servicing it?
Will the leasing company ALD check or give a toss?
The service book is not very clear as to when it should be serviced.
What do you think?

The infotainment system should say the car is to be serviced at 1 year / 12k (oil change).
So yes you will need to have this done. Where you have it done will probably be outlined in your lease contract.

I would suggest you delay your first service by a few weeks to guarantee that you won't have to put it in for its second service before you hand it back.

I agree good advice
Irrelevant when the car goes back with it being on a 2 yr lease yes you will have to have the 1st one done so long as it's done at a vat registered garage you will be ok unless you want the Vw stamp then its the dealers. As for its 2nd service as mentioned delay the 1st so the 2nd falls once you hand it back...
