Post by: Paul larter on 08 January 2017, 08:31
Does anyone know how to change the daylight running lights to fog lights using Vag com on golf Gti mk 7 model?

It is illegal and when you get pulled and you can not turn them off your car may be prohibited. Fog lights are for foggy weather and not to dazzle others when it is raining and reflecting up from the wet road.....The clue is in the name.

Getting pulled is unlikely (Policing done by speed and red light cameras these days) , it is getting harder to differentiate someone who is being a tool with their fogs on in clear conditions and someone who just has DRLs on.

I think DRLs are pointless personally, they don't make a shiny red, white, blue, green or black car any more visible in fair conditions, they do make motorbikes less noticeable as motorbikes though, now everyone has lights on.

Not the point, dazzling other road users by using "Fog" lights for something they are not designed for is inconsiderate. Leave that to the kids sitting outside the local McDonalds every night.

Fog lights are unlikely to dazzle oncoming traffic as their beam is set low to the ground. DLRs are very useful in anything but perfect light and make the car much more visible to oncoming traffic and at greater distances.

I see/meet on the road, a guy in a GTi who runs with his fogs on and I have never been dazzled by them in wet or dry.

What does dazzle me it those idiots who don't turn their lights on when it starts to get dark and in doing so their DRL's are at full brightness and high up so they are in direct line of sight.

Nah, made my point, I don't do the pointless arguing on titnternet thing. Plus if they want their GTI to look like a Citroen ds3 it is up to them
