Title: 17's on Mk1 Cab

I want to stcik 17's on my mk1 cabriolet Gti, anyone out there done this? Want to know if there will be any scrubbing issues and also if i can lower it without arch work.

dinx has 17's on hers with a small (40mm) drop. hopefully she'll look on here and give you some advice!

mine were already on cab when i bought her..then i got nagged to death by this lot cos she looked like a 4x4 :rolleyes: so dropped her by 40mm as Joe says..
so far,ive had no rubbing and havent had to do any arch mods wot-so-ever,but theres no way you could carry anything too heavy or any passengers in the back seat like..theres still a bit of a gap between the arch and the wheel even after the drop..

only rubbing i suffered was wen i went too quickly/tightly around a round about,n you heard my back wheel rub,but no severe damage...

Nice one, cheers! I reckon i'll get springs first then squeeze the wheels on!
