Title: Safety info sticker on sun visor
Post by: Sandtrap on 28 December 2016, 07:36
There is a safety info sticker on both sides of the passenger sun visor . Has anyone removed it ? Not sure if it will come off without leaving a sticky mark . Was thinking to try a hairdryer on it .

I think they are difficult to remove. Most people (myself included) cover them up with a Badgeskins sticker.

The other option is to replace the entire visor with the driver's side visor from a left-hand-drive car, but that's expensive (about £65.00)

They are nigh on impossible to remove without damaging your sun visor as they are bonded onto the visor.  Some people replace the visor with a LHD one.  Alternatively you can stick something over them such as the Badgeskins linked to above.  I recently bought some of these to hide the airbag stickers on my R and am really pleased with them. You can customise them to your requirement.  Some details and pics in this thread.  http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=275792.msg2554601#msg2554601

They do come in a set of two.

When you are ready to apply them, warm the car up a bit first inside as if it's too cold the glue won't adhere properly. I just ran the heater for a bit at approx 19°C first and they went on fine.

Thanks Rebecca for the tips, I remember reading your "how to" when you first fitted them and the mentioning of heating the car up before applying..so will be following your advice, thanks.

You need a credit card too Mr GTD, it's just like applying a phone protector.  Applying was the easy part, the biggest quandry was which way to put the sticker on with the visor when folded shut.  Right way up from driver's vision when visor folded flat, but upside down if looking outwards in through the winsdscreen, or vice versa.  I decided the driver's view was more important, lol.

Why did you not go for a LHD plain visor instead?
