There was a request for a CSS gallery thread so here goes. Not got many of mine due to weather but here's one without the wraps to start off. Please add yours.

They are too busy polishing them instead of taking them out of the garage to give them a good thrashing round a circuit

I'd pop some pictures up of mine but can't seem to work out how.
-
@Trev, Yes you are right.
@Caval4r I usually upload them to Photobucket (or similar) and paste the URL of the pic in.
Would love to see some pics.
-
I'd pop some pictures up of mine but can't seem to work out how.
I know how to do it but I wouldn't know how to explain it!
It's the worst site ever to upload pictures to and it really needs improving
Booth11 is probably the best person to explain the painful process but I would fully understand if she is reluctant to get involved after the total bullsh!t she's had thrown at her recently
-
I'll have a bash when i get home. I'm sure i can work it out.

Sorted :)
-
Looking good
Just browsing through this thread http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/pretoria-rims-on-s3.303277/ should the CS-S (and normal CS) have the red VW centre caps like the last picture?
-
I noticed them. I'd like the part number as i may order some.
-
As good as the CSS looks in red, it looks even better in black.

Either way, Caval4r's are not on straight. With the valve in the 6 o clock position, the badge should be the right way round.

How did I not notice that! I will rectify this evening.

Top job..
Nice pics all
-
Awesome stuff.
-
I'll get out during the next few days in it and get some more pics.
-
They are too busy polishing them FOR RESELLING instead of taking them out of the garage to give them a good thrashing round a circuit
Edited to correct your quote.
No way mine is staying for ever, iv promised my self she is only allowed out on sunny Sundays
-
So few pictures
Its almost like the camera or camera phone was invented last week. I would have about 40 pics of mine if i had just taken delivery!!
Mine's sat in the garage, hasn't turned a wheel in almost exactly a week since I drove it back from the dealer in Devon.
Too much else to do this time of year rather than indulge in the selfish process of buggering around with your own silly 2 seat car but hopefully tomorrow it will have its first ever wash depending what mood I wake up in.
-
Mines used
Dot cotton and desperately in need of a J Edgar
-
I noticed them. I'd like the part number as i may order some.
Going to get a set myself found them here
https://www.kunzmann.de/shop/en/wheels-wheel-hub-cap-chrome-red-vw-golf-7-genuine-volkswagen.htm
Part number when googled though brings up the centres without the red band so if you were to quote the part number to a dealer you may end up with standard centres
-
This is the part number of the red-ringed caps that I ordered
(http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y223/phope1/IMG_0222_zpsxmahj2va.jpg)

That's great. Thanks for the info people :).

Nice pics Caval4r's, I see your car came from Windrush, I take it you didn't let them wash it?
It's been nearly 3 years since I got my R from them and it's only today having washed my CSS which didn't have the PDI grit treatment and is perfect that I realise what a totally bloody mess they made of my R.

No I explicitly told them not to touch it. Only thing they did was PDI and remove the bonnet and roof cover.

As the wheel caps are added at PDI stage, do you think dealers have missed this off like the GTI/GTD key fob issue?
-

Missed what off?
-
I ordered a set and sent them back, really cheap plastic and arrived all scratched up.
-

Missed what off?
Workshop staff pocketing the red caps and fitting black ones. In the early days of the 7GTI/D, few of the special key fobs were handed over at delivery.
-
Should the CSS come with a special keyfob?
I didn't get any

wheel caps arrive in a sealed bag in the boot, so no
-

They keys arrive without the GTI/GTD/R chrome bits and the tech as to swap them over at PDI, (CSS gets the GTI tag)

I saw my bag being opened and can assure you the non-red caps are correct.
Has anyone checked to see if a CS Ed 40 with Pretorias has the red caps?
-
The only wheels that get the red caps are the 18" CS wheels, no others seem to get them.

This is Crazy - Why has this thread been hijacked into a Key Fob thread ... Its supposed to be a Picture Gallery thread! Can the mod's delete un-applicable posts please ...

Did you get to go around the track?

I think a black CSS is about as good as it gets as far as VW go.
Absolutely gorgeous

Unfortunately not! It was the Pistonheads Sunday Service in December, which is a show and shine only really.
I want to get the car properly run in before any track days, I think.

The question is where has GT4 disappeared to? You think he bailed on the CSS?

I was also just wondering the same. Expected him to have posted up some pictures of his CSS, and read his initial impressions.

Many thanks for the helpful link. Uploading a photo is like going back to DOS based computer operating system, for those that remember them!

Unfortunately that isn't my garage, but the storage unit where I'm getting PPF / Ceramic coating applied. I couldn't believe it when I found the plate, perfect fit!

When I was deciding on the GTD I had a look on the dvla website and they had VW17 GTD on it for £750 but by the time I had decided I was going to get a GTD the plate was gone.

The GT17 plates are great for anyone buying a GTI this year. Can probably still get most initials on DVLA. Have you collected your new car yet?

No problem, all you do is click on 'share' at the bottom right corner of the image in photobucket, choose 'get links' then when they appear copy and paste the 'IMG' code into your post.

Cheers Watts...I'm fairly sure that is what I tried the 2nd or 3rd time. Perhaps something to do with being on a Mac? Either way, will try and get some more pics up when it's been PPF'd and fully detailed. You can't tell, but it is very grubby in these pics.

Great looking car, congratulations! But... did you complain to the dealer about not parking it straight for your collection?!.
Love the tartan seats in your car. The only minor gripe I have with the CSS is it doesn't feature the iconic GTi Tartan interior.

That was the least of my complaints. If you want tartan seats I can do you a swap

That's a bit of a shame, were there problems with the car? Mine has a minor scratch on one of the grab handles, but apart from this, it was all ok on first inspection.
-
@k77nrs the scratch was on the rear driver's side wheel arch. Been to http://www.autodetox.co.uk today and Barry has said that the scratch is too deep to get out but he can make it 90% right. It will need a 2 stage machine polish to get rid of the swirlmarks. Going to see the dealer tomorrow about it.
As for the rest of the car is great, love the colour and the car although I'm having my doubts about the sound and sport pack.
