When you live in Grimsby you kinda get immune to it after a while :)

Bacteria in your aircon. The smell is worse when you switch aircon on or off. Halfords do a spray can bomb you use to sanitise the car. Put the can in the back, put aircon on max, set the bomb off and let the car run for 10 mins (with nobody in it).

Got the same on a 3 series a couple of years ago and it was a over heated clutch after sitting with clutch control on a hill for five mins, it took weeks to clear.

Try the one linked but caution - Halfords will try and sell you one of their own Halfords brand Aircon Spray cans - only buy theirs if you like to have your car smelling like a Turkish Brothel for the next 3 months.

I bought and used the Halfords one and I can not clear the stink from my car, and I have tried everything - heat, fans, cleaning, deodorizers, etc etc etc

Yep as above but make sure your recirc' is on and better in the front. I have used the Comma or Auto-glym ones for years as they smell better than most the others.
