Not sure if you guys have seen this video, but it would seam that VW have beaten their own record :)

Wow ... what was the old lap record time ...?
-
Great Video Andrew first I'd seen that
-
Old lap time was 7:49:21
-
Is that really almost a second faster than a 997 GT3 RS?

I am amazed.
-
There is a 7.33 from a 997 GT3 RS ... as with all this data it is very subjective, so no real clear indication?!

So how much quicker is the £30500 dearer GT4?

Volks ... that's a little harsh - my GT4 was £48k dearer LOL 😂
-
That Benny guy is some driver, imagine what he could do with a proper sports car ... 👊😂

I was trying to make your case look less bad
£48k for seven seconds, bet it had ceramics too.
7:42 according to this video which Pistonheads said required "jaw-dropping unflinching commitment"

Haha 😂 150 Mph in a Golf .... that's some effort 💪 Give him a black car and I bet he could shave another couple of seconds off 😘

2 things about the video
1: He REALLY misses a gear at 5min and lost a good second or 2 in momentum all the way to Wippermann so it could be near 7.45
2: Rule 1999/94/EG is a disclaimer I don't like to see on Ring times. Having said that, they are all at it imo...
-
It's VW, They have a solid Germanic reputation for facts, we can trust them, its not like they have ever been a bit devious or cheated on anything...
-
I'd love to know if missing a gear lost enough time to make DSG a better choice even if is heavier.
-
That's one to debate long into the night....
Whats the DSG weight penalty?
From MK5 PGTI DSG is the thing to have in the wet but not the dry.

Jackie - I thought that as well ... I reckon it was an "unofficial" attempt by some of the team and away from VW's eyes hence very little PR and the Caveat ???!!

That Benny guy is some driver ... i wince every time he hits the curb with a whack ... just shows what a great car the CS-S is - imagine doing that in a Ferrari or GT3
We are indeed very luck to get a chance to own one and see what they are like for ourselves ... I cat believe there is only one tentative review as yet
-
I was just thinking ... can you imagine what time he would post if he had telemetry of each corner and a few goes at it - to me there were a few situations in that lap where he could have picked some time up - saying that Im a Golf Professional not a Racing driver ... :embarrassed:
