Hi
Random one but can someone confirm that a may 2016 golf gti should have a working light in the glove box? Realised mine was working now we have dark nights. Took it out and found I have no wiring gong to it!! I have had a new dash and control module for head unit so glove box was taken out. I'm assuming it should work and perhaps wiring loom is trapped someone where!!
Cheers

Hi yeah if the light is there it should be working as you say the glovebox has been out so guessing it's not been plugged back in.
Mines a April 2016 Gti with light iv just swapped it out tor the led light from one side of the footwell and put red leds instead of the standard white

The plug does disappear into the hole at any chance it gets. Try a firk with your finger to see if you can find it.

Can confirm that there is a working light in the glovebox on 2016 GTIs. The cable is pretty short to be fair so if you had work done in that area there is high chance it's tucked in somewhere inside the dash and the guy that worked on your car has not bothered to connect it back. On my previous 2014 GTI the cable was even shorter, I could barely take it out to change the bulb with a LED bulb.

Where are you guys buying your LED bulbs?
At £12 odd for a single festoon to go in the boot its going to cost a bit to do the upgrades mentioned on here.

I got mine from Horizon LEDs as well as the Boot and sun visor ones (different sizes).

Footwell red leds came a flee bay seller in Enfield ☺
