As title, November map updates are now online !
-
Does anyone know roughly the cost to buy the updates on a card rather than downloading? I don't have the technology to do it myself!
-
I'll sell you one. Its the cost of the card, plus postage and 100 quid plus VAT labour...
Which is probably the same as your dealer would charge you, minus the postage.

Thanks! At that rate I think I'm happy to get lost through my own inadequacies rather than the sat nav's

Send me your card and I'll do it for nothing. I can't believe another member is willingly going to rip off another member!!

Cheers mcmaddy, very kind and generous! I took it that fredgroves wasn't being serious in fairness. Do I need a new card or is the old one updated? I really know nothing about this! If a new one, what exactly do I need?
-
Is this for V5 SD Card maps?
-
If it's for discover nav then you use your existing supplied sat nav card and just update the maps from the vw navigation site.
-
.......but, be sure to make a back up copy of what is on the card, before you format it, just in case things don't go right. This procedure does go right, most of the time - I've done it myself, a few times, without errors, but plenty of reports, on here and other forums, where folk have had problems. Take care and it should be fine.
-
Yes it's the same process on my current Tiguan and I've had no issues with the maps.

Yes, I was more taking the pee out of what the dealer would charge you! But if you are flush with cash ;-)

Apologies Fred.
-
Just updated mine. The car accepted the card OK and planned a route, so looks fine so far. Not actually driven a route yet, but I don't expect any problems. No idea, as ever, what has been updated, but hey, I have the latest maps!

Where do i find the update?

Where do i find the update?
Right here: clicky (http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/Navteq-NavteqEurope-Site/en_GB/-/GBP/View-Promo?&cwt=application/ApplicationFrame_campaign_light&Page=VW_Europe_Media_MIB2)
If you're unfamiliar with the process, there is a link to detailed instructions just above where it says Europe Maps.

The instructions seem straightforward enough, thanks for posting the link Talk-torque. I'll probably wait until the next update as my laptop being of 2004 vintage is not up to the job and I'm likely to replace it in the sales. Many thanks again though to mcmaddy for the kind offer
