are the N/S & O/S drive shafts the same length on a mk2 or any other FWD car

The o/s and n/s driveshafts are different in length. If I remember correctly, they are also similar to the Mk1 in that one is a solid shaft and the other is a tube.

Some fwd cars have the same length shafts, Audi I think for one  ??? (Rich will correct me).
The g/box on the golf is on the n/s of the car , so the l/h hand shaft is short and the r/h hand is longer. On some fwd cars like the Audi for example the g/box is behind the engine on a central line, so the shafts are the same length. (I could be wrong with the Audi, but the Renault Fuego, remember them ;), are the same length.
