Had a horrible sound one night, found out to be the rear suspension top mount had broken. Is this even repairable lol . cant see the other pics but the left bolt, where it screws into has corroded and is no longer there if you know what i mean .

What do you want to repair?
They will need to be replaced.

i got a new top mount and done a quick nut n bolt job with some threaded rod :grin:, just wondered if some kind of captive nut could be welded in place where the original has corroded.

I would recommend you replace all the bolts with the specified ones from VW - they are deforming when tightened correctly.
Yes a new one can be welded in.... but it needs to be high strength. Iirc they are all 10.9
