Does anyone knows how to bleed the air out of the convertible roof pump.

Open bleed valve and open and close roof manually a few times.Job done.

Lol.If you look at the pump in this ad :- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Golf-Convertible-Cabrio-Mk3-Mk3-5-Mk4-2-0-powerpacker-roof-pump-1E0871791A-/272337723799?hash=item3f6897e197:g:tcoAAOSw65FXrFGU

See where it says "max" on the pump,to the left of pic ?.Just right of that is the bleed valve,it's like a "T" shape sticking out.Just undo that clockwise a couple of turns and then operate the roof manually a few times and do it up again.Check the level as well.

Pump on UK models is on the left as you look into the boot. You can access the bleed valve which is under a round rubber grommet/cover about 70mm in diameter.

Thanks gasketface, appreciated.
I call that the release valve, I have changed two roofs and two sets of hydraulic lines but always wondered how to bleed the air off, didn't think that would do it.
Cheers
