Title: 16 inch wheels on mk6 GTI
Post by: dreddy85 on 16 October 2016, 21:57
just want to confirm that 16 inch alloys will fit the GTI? I have posted a wanted ad for winter wheel set but have also tonight found a set of 16 inch skoda wheels that could be a possibility. They are 6.5j x 16 et 50. Everything i can find online says they should be fine just after some confirmation if poss.

Thanks Dan

The issue may actually be clearing your front discs

What size are the brake discs?

Aything bigger than 312mm and the 16's won't fit

Depends on the style of the wheel.  Its the clearence of the caliper that can be an issue.
If the car has R brakes then the smallest is 17s.

They should fit on unmodded car - check the brake size though. PR codes in the service manual will tell you exactly what you have fitted.
