Title: Wheels and Steering wheel alignment
Post by: RossJames on 24 October 2003, 13:20
Just had a new steering wrack fitted and the garage told me they didn't have the equipment to align the wheels which isn't a problem as this can be done anwhere,  but the sterring wheel is out as well and has an air bag.....is this a main dealer job ?

Get the wheels properly aligned, then take the battery negative off. Take out the 2 side bolts on the back of the airbag, remove it. Undo the centre bolt that holds on the steering wheel, then re-align the steering wheel as required. Make sure that after you have refitted the airbag that there is no-one in the car when you reconnect the battery negative(in case it goes off).
