Title: AUQ 1.8T FLASHING RED OIL LIGHT
Post by: Gary#turbo on 10 October 2016, 17:03
Hi everyone ,

I've got a AUQ 1.8T and this morning the oil light came on but it was flashing red , I have been told that they are common to oil clogging into the oil pick up pipe & to sort this i have to replace the pick up pipe & pipe seal with some oil a filter, sump plug and some sealant to sort the problem  or give it a good clean with some WD40 , Can anyone advise on this ?

Can do. Mk4 also suffer from the bonnet microswitch causes oil light.
Unplug it and bridge the connection then start the car and see if it sorts it. They run off the same loom as the level sensor

I havnt sorry but if you open the ponet and look down to your left where the bonnet closed swit is youll see a 2 pin connector. Unplug that and bridge it (I use a split pin). Then see if the light goes out. If so its the microswitch saying that the bonnet is still open
