Title: Mk6 not starting properly
Post by: waxandhide on 05 October 2016, 09:39
Hi guys,

Ever since I bought my Mk6 GTi DSG from VW in July 2015, it's experienced an intermittent fault whereby quite often (around 7-8 times a week under normal usage), it won't start. The car will crank but won't start until I put my foot to the floor on the accelerator. Randomly it seems to happen most after a good hour drive and then leaving the car in an underground car park.

When it does eventually start, the revs rise and fall before settling - almost feels like a carb'd car that's flooded. The car has been back and forth to VW and I've even got VW customer services involved for the last year and is currently with them on a 4 week stint. They're running loads of test as advised by VW tech but are struggling to find a solution.

I'm not looking for anyone to necessarily diagnose the fault but interested to know if anyone has ever experienced anything similar?

Cheers
