Anyone ever bother with these?

Over the years with VWs I have never been offered a free 1000 mile inspection.
Sounds like a quick visual inspection only - no maintenance.
Makes business sense to them to try and keep you as a future customer for the first maintenance at the 10k miles or one year stage.
If you've the time , its local to you and you trust the dealer then why not.
I try to keep my cars away from dealers....

Our car had a 6 weekly inspection.
They said it was to do any software updates or if we had anything wrong with the car.
I reckoned it was to try and sell us GAP, alloy insurance or paint protection
As it turned out they updated the firmware for the MIB2 so it was beneficial.

My dealer offered a free 90 day check up which I took as they're only 2 miles away. All they did was check the oil, coolant etc and gave the brakes and tires a quick look. It only took an hour but I saw no harm in them taking a look just in case there was an issue but it turned out a bit of a waste of time really. I didn't even get a free coffee while I was waiting though, very obvious difference between a prospective customer and someone they're doing free 'work' for!

No, have never bothered with them.

I'd have struggled as by the time I had done 1000 miles the car had been exported to Cyprus!
Back now though but way too late to take them up on the offer lol.

Haha. The car feels sound so think I'll leave it. Plus I'm pretty lazy.
