cant really argue with that logic.

Apart from it being back to front

Golf mk4 convertible is a mk3 in mk4 shell. Neither Haynes is great.
Mk3 more accurate for engine, suspension etc

a lot of confusion going on in this thread...
It is a face lifted Mk3 Chassis - the only external part they didnt change from the Mk3 was the tail lights.
internally all the switch gear is Mk3, its just been Mk4'ed - all can be interchanged mk3 to Mk3.5

I've got both, Between the two, you can work out what's what

Funny how things happen...I had never heard of, or even seen one of the above models until this thread popped up.
Within 10 minutes of reading the first post, I walked outside onto the street and 'bingo' ....a beautiful example, parked right opposite my front door.
I'm in love!

The early 3.5 with AGG lump in it is very much the same as the Mk3 but the later one is not.
There are similarities between the 2 but the 01 model 2 litre has the ABA engine which was never available in the MK3 or MK4 in the UK.
This makes for a lot of changes, especially to the electrics side.
Best option may be to get a manual for the late mk3 but the US version as they had the ABA in them not the AGG.
