Interesting. No more Carbon Grey. Any more info on what the facelift changes will be?
-
Do the deletions of the two Golf colours apply to all Golfs including GTD/GTi/R? and the Estate versions?

Isn't carbon grey only available on GTI & GTD currently anyway so it must do? Shame, I love CSG!

Good point. Yeah it is exclusive colour.

I remember when i originally ordered my GTD - CSG wasn't even an available option on the system for some reason.

So that's an official VW communication that says "facelift Q1 2017"
I think that's the news here isn't it? Not the paint colours...

+1. They are clearly scaling back production of the MK7. It's been obvious here in Ireland for ages as they keep throwing extra kit (leather, nav, etc) into the cars at no extra cost.

Yes looks like it. I'll share on the Rforum.

Night Blue is a great colour (though not so hot on GTi with the red stripe)!
-
Hmm, my re-ordered car is scheduled for build week 45. And it's Carbon Grey. I'm not sure I like the sound of this.

lol... my thoughts exactly!

2 big disappointments of the week - No CSG & No GBBO on BBC1. Things will never be the same again!

Think maybe there should have been an embargo on this, rather than just a suggestion "to communicate at the end of September"! Facelifted Golf to be revealed at the Paris Show? Does this make you right all along Daz Auto, or did you just have all the bases covered?

Looks like you are right. I did not realise that the Frankfurt and Paris shows are year about. There is a Frankfurt show next week, but this year is commercial vehicles. Paris is the one for passenger vehicles.
So the Paris show is 1st -16th October. Another 2 1/2 weeks to wait.

Reading between the lines it says you can't order CG but production doesn't end until BW51 so they're still building CG cars already scheduled & you might be lucky to get BW45 spec improvement if they do a run out campaign as a bonus.
-
My worry is that any run-out campaign includes options that I don't want/won't have. I seem to recall that when the Mark 6 was winding down, they made leather seats standard on GTDs and the like. Mandatory leather seats would force me to cancel my order.
-
That was going from a Mk6 to Mk7 though.
I reckon a facelift will be different as they will start producing the new look one in January so they will have the 12 weeks from October to January to produce orders that are currently in.
If it was a new model folk would generally hold off from buying so they would need enticement to buy the older model.
-
I reckon the MY16 changes last year (Nav/winter pack/keyless) on the GTI/D was the run-out for the mk7.1
I remember the run-out on the mk6 (leather etc) lasted for about a year?
IIRC you could still order the mk6 GTI ED35 + R whilst the first of the mk7 base models were out?
-
When do MY18 changes come in?
A similar time to this thread? Mid Sept?
-
MY18 was from end of May 2017... MY19 will be next May.
-
OK, thanks.
This must have been a once off mid year?
-
This was due to the launch of the facelift in early 2017.
-
VW normally introduce specification changes each year during production week 45 - sometimes minor and sometimes major.
