ive always wanted leather seats in my Golf 5.
It was either a custom interior at £2k or a new car all together.............
No brainer really, I decided on a new car!
So I went to my local dealer who provided a price which I was quite preparred to pay (yes I know we can all be a bit stupid when sat in the showrooms).
A few weeks later, in an off moment, I started to shop around online, WOW no dealer gave the same price with some so low it was difficult to realise how they managed to make any profit.
I emailed my dealer who said come back and we can 'see what we can do' so I paid a visit and dropped the four lowest prices onto the desk.
Result £3.5k off the original price plus the dealer added extras AND trade-in price I wanted.

Good job Mike! Nothing quite like getting a deal on what you really want. Night Blue is a great colour too

I'm currently looking at 18% off a gtd and 16% off a gti pp so some good discounts are to be had.

It's all about shopping around before agreeing to anything. I was in the same boat back in july. Dealer rang me and invited me to have a chat about my current car and my plans. He tried to sell me a new car and the price he gave me was obviously horrendously high. But I came with lesson prepared, showed him the best quote on Carwow and he matched it plus some extras and also offered to pay off my current settlement difference (I was in negative equity after only two years of PCP). As another plus they ordered my car with the wrong color (wanted plain black, they ordered with pearlescent black) and didn't charge me extra (I would've refused the car if they did anyway).
