Title: Need advice - Throttle body weeping oil
Post by: jamiemc on 08 September 2016, 15:51
I have a mk5 diesel 2.0 (140) gt tdi.  60k miles.  Bought it 2 month ago,, full history. Have just took engine cover off for a nosey and have noticed oil is weeping out of the throttle body, all the way around at the top and if I look down into the engine block below the oil filter there is quite a bit of oil.  Have had a mechanic look,  he said  - it is normal, not too bad, old car will pass a bit of oil through the turbo.  He looked up the exhaust aswell.  It runs fine, no excessive smoke.  Anybody had this problem.  The engine oil is a bit over the max mark, it was serviced before I got it.  could this cause the problem?
