Ouch, must have been some stone!
I don't think a PDR will touch anything where paint is damaged. It could require a full bonnet respray unfortunately...
-
That's nasty.
I agree with Joe, that could well be a repair and respray job.
Different location but I had similar on my door crease and had to have the door resprayed.

I was thinking that it would be a repair and respray, I've got touch paint but there's no way it will cover this - it's the dent that's done it. I did think someone had done it one purpose with a key etc but I've gone thru my dashcam footage over the last 48 hrs and there is nothing :(
what sort of price would I be looking at to get this repaired?
So annoyed, I look after and care for my cars so well and this happened.

Repair and respray of my door cost £345 (inc VAT). Mine wasn't stone chip but result of someone opening their door onto mine in a car park.

I'm going to have to get some quotes next week to get it fixed. It looks terrible you can see the dent approaching the car. How will they fix this? What sort of time scale did it take to fix yours? Still can't believe the dent its made

I really feel for you as that is a huge stone chip and dent, and your eyes are no doubt drawn to it every time you look at the car. If you are anything like me, you won't rest until it's sorted.
Timescale in my case - car was in the bodyshop for a week. They repaired the dent and chip which combination of manipulating as much as debt out as possible then filling. Followed by respray of the panel. In my case it didn't need blending into surrounding panels.
Prior to opting fo the bodyshop repair and respray route, I spoke to some dent/smart repairer guys and sent pics and they said they could not guarantee getting the dent out due to it's location on crease. And to me, a smart repair on the chip would have always been noticeable so went with full repair instead. Brilliant job the bodyshop did. Back to new and paint matched perfectly. Was worth the cost to have a proper repair done.
Hope you get it sorted ok. Let us know how you get on.

Better off going to vw approved body shop especially within your warranty period, that way anything goes wrong at a later date vw can't wriggle out of a warranty claim.
-
Yeah I could go to VW Wrexham. They have the accident repair place at the back. Wonder if will be very expensive there ?
-
Get them to provide you with an estimate of the cost to repair, then you'll know how expensive.
-
Could be worse - you could have one on either side of the car on the rear quarters of a 3 door.
All thanks to the guys strimming the grass/dirt/stones/rocks with petrol powered strimmers out in Cyprus!
I'm looking to try for a PDR and then touch up pen with a bit of rubbing down and polishing after that.
Not sure if the rear quarters are (once you get the trim off) riveted on so it will no doubt be a voyage of discovery all round!
