Title: GTD Service Schedule and Brake Warning light
Post by: johnboylds on 01 September 2016, 20:12
Hi all,

Does anyone have a copy/link to the service schedule for the Mk7 Golf GTD.

I'm on time and distance servicing, so every 10,000 miles in effect. My first 3 services were covered by a service plan, so the 40,000 mile service is the first that I paid for.  This was a major service but the supplying dealer did it at a great price. It's now due its 50,000 mile service and when I rang the dealer today they advised that it's another major service. Is it not a minor service on odd numbers (10k, 30k, 50k) and a major service on the evens?

Also, my brake wear warning light came on today. The brakes still feel fine but I'll get them replaced with the service. My question is, what percentage of pad is left when the warning comes on? It'll be at least a week/500 miles until the car goes in.

Thanks guys,

John

You will be fine for the rear brakes, they are hardly used under normal conditions. If you drive normally you will get a couple of thousand out of them, if you race around it will be significantly less.
