Title: Aftermarket Wheels.
Post by: Tanuie on 01 September 2016, 08:52
Hi, just joined the forum, have been with Mercedes for the last fourteen years but not new to Golf GTI's, I have had four golfs in the past, a mk1, 2 mk2's and a VR6. I was reluctant to give up the VW but the deal on the the Mercedes was to good to good to miss. So been with them ever since. I have just bought a 2008 VW Golf GTI with some really bad wheels, so i am going to buy some aftermarket wheels, do i need to buy some new wheel bolts for the new wheels, i have noticed that the bolts on the car are radius opposed to tapered, will the new wheels require tapered or radius bolts and will the bolts be to long or to short.
Many Thanks.

Can't answer that for certain until you know the wheels you are buying but very likely to need new bolts. If you go with somewhere like rimstyle.com then they supply everything you need anyway :)
