Title: Fog lights as turning lights
Post by: mwad gti on 23 August 2016, 21:49
Hi all.

I'm considering getting my fog lights coded so that they work as turning lights. I know that it's not for everyone. I had turning lights on my last mk6 GT and found it useful.

Has anyone done this on their GTi?
Anyone know the code on Vagcom or whatever it's called now ?

Cheers

Yep! Got this on my GTI. Easy to do if you know a guy with VAGCOM or VCDS...?

Definitely looks cool to me haha

Cheers Sunny. Car is going in for a service soon so will prob get it coded then. Hopefully he can do it quickly if he knows the code.

Just thinking the turning lights are a good idea, they were useful on the last mk6 and I never knew until recently that they could be coded to the fog lights

You can also code them to come on when reverse gear is engaged. It sounds odd, but my B7 Passat does it as standard, so I coded the Golf to do the same. It does help, as it illuminates the wide areas where the front of the car may swing into when reversing.

Look like mine are only comming on if I have the headlights switched to on and not whilst on auto

Mine work when on Auto as I leave switch on Auto

But try resetting the coming home light function on the info computer. As I did that once when my fog lights were only coming home with headlights to On

Hope that makes sense...!

Leave the headlights on constantly, i do. It makes you more visible on the road. They go off when you get out of the car. That would solve the problem wouldn't it?
