Hi guys
My GTi will be 4 years old 1st Septmber and has covered 21.5k miles.
Upto now, I have kept full VW service history (whilst still under warranty)
Question is, do I continue to keep up the FVWSH for at least the next service (40k mile service) @£329 or now take it to my local specialist (whom I have a good relationship with as he took care of my pita Audi)-his price is approx £204. He'll also fit my new headlight bulbs foc.
I'm not planning on selling the car as its a keeper so I'm thinking specialist....
Your opinions please

Do you still have VW extended warranty running? As I realised you have to have servicing by VW to keep warranty valid
If not, and you're gonna keep it then specialist should be ok 👍

I no longer have any warranty

Most dealers price match local Indys
I would keep it full VW history, it just helps when it comes to selling (even though personally I believe it shouldn't make a difference)

I decided to keep the dealer history with mine, wether you sell it to someone who knows what they are talking about or not will have a bigger influence with service history, most sheep like people will see a specialist as just another garage but will be dazzled by dealers.

would your local VW dealer not price match the indy garage ?
I got both our mots cheaper because I asked if they would price match them .

I did some service plan thing and it worked out to be a good deal, pay so much a month and i get 2 minor and 1 major service, 3 MOTs and it worked out to be very good.

I did the same. VW finance have some good service deals occasionally so I keep an eye on the VW website and found they matched my local indie on price surprisingly. The VW stamp means any recalls will have been dealt with and there is a history on the VW system.
