Title: Chain tensioner, where to get it changed?
Post by: dest on 19 August 2016, 08:24
Hi, just joined up after buying a 3 door Mk6 GTI in White, I'm itching to get the car which I will be collecting on Thursday after it's been MOT'd and I'm back from my holiday.

I'm a bit paranoid about the timing chain tensioner, so would like to get it changed to the new one ASAP.
Does anyone know of a good specialist around Northamptonshire/Cambridgeshire that would be able to do it?
Cheers

What year is your car? The later cars had the new tensioner from new, i assume there's no evidence of it being replaced or new engine in the service history?

Hi and welcome

As The Ant said, what year is the car ? It may not be needed or already been done. If not, any decent specialist should be able to do it
