Morning all! New to the site and starting my search for an early Mk 2 (previous owner of C54FMU GTI ) or Mk 1 GTI in good condition. My mechanic is an Audi / VW buff and is steering me towards the 8V Mk 1 but I'm emotionally attached to the Mk 2. Keen to hear views and get some advice from obvious enthusiasts. There's a wings and wheels event near to me next month so hoping VWs make an appearance. Cheers Bob
