Hi... What type and size of driver is required to take out the bolts that secure the locking mechanisms on my mk4 golf? 40 torx is too small, 45 too big. Is it even a torx?! Also, where can you get a hold of replacement bolts...
-
Locking mechanism? Door locks all Torx I think?
XZN screws me thinks though..... replacements should be obvious: VW.

It is M8 XZN. About £10 on ebay.
Based on bitter experience you can get a torx bit and a regular Allen key to fit the head close enough to think it is worth trying, but that ends in tears. They are tight. They are hard too so if you strip the heads they are a bugger to drill out.
You need the tool - accept no substitues or bodges.

The bolts have M8 12point heads. search EBAY for 'M8 SPLINE BIT 12 Point Socket'.

I drilled all 4 of mine out just yesterday, using a bolt extractor bought from Screwfix - 5 Pounds for the bolt extractor.
And still having issues with my locking modules

What are the issues?
