Really annoyed at how easily my GTD gathers up stone chips and every one seems to go right to bare metal. Never had a car chip to the metal before. Paint quality must be total rubbish.
Anyone else have the same problem or a solution. Need to get my half dozen chips touched up again which needs a professional job to achieve a decent finish.

Mine has been picking up stone chips in some really bizarre places (on the car, not locations...). I think it's to do with modern water based paint not being so robust as my 2003 Audi had hardly any in 12 years

The paint is really thin - VW would likely justify it by citing weight savings.

I found my car was not picking up stone chips as easy after a while i.e. 6 months of ownership. Does the paint require longer to cure than previously required. I will agree the paint is thinner and is more prone to stone chips. When i first picked up my car it was easily chipping but now I barely see any new chips on the paint work. I don't have lots of chips on my paintwork but the majority was incurred on the first 6 months of ownership.

Maybe they're blending in, the first stands out but after a few you don't notice 1 more
