Hi, just registered to this forum. I bought a Mk 3 GTI 16v (ABF) yesterday. When i start the vehicle from cold, the engine runs rough and rich. Seems to be hesitant when reving. Once revs hit 2000 it runs okay. But when drops below it starts running rough again. Once vehicle is at optimum temperature, vehicle runs fine. but when sitting at good temperature for a few minutes, the engine stalls. When trying to start, the vehicle instantly cuts out, but igntion stays on. Once it cools down after a couple of minutes. It will start. When warms up, fault occurs again. Anyone have an idea what this fault could be? I've been told the imobiliser can be at fault ?
