Title: Tpms buttons and wiring from eBay.
Post by: Paulc33 on 30 July 2016, 11:38
Just changed my mk5 gti for a mk6 gti.
But it doesn't have Tyre pressure monitoring like my old mk5 did.

Seen this kit on eBay and wondered if any one had bought and fitted one?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291708724450

Did search forum but couldn't find anything on them.

Is this all I would need for it and how easy is it to fit the kit? Guessing it works via rolling radio of the wheel through the abs system is that right??

I retrofitted TPMS on mine.

Pretty straight forward. Hardest hit is getting the wire through the bulkhead (there is a grommet behind the glovebox)

Then connecting the wire into the ABS unit is also fiddly as it is at the back of the engine bay.
You'll need to have VAGcom/VCDS to code it as well.

Oh cool.
Is there a how to guide any where?
I'm surprised that my 2012 gti doesn't have it fitted as standard.
One of those things which is very useful though so may retro fit it.
