Title: Install an AUX or USB in MK4 with original car stereo
Post by: douglas on 29 July 2016, 11:17
Hi all,

my 2002 GTi has the original stereo in fine working order.  This obviously means there are no AUX connections etc to run my iPod through for example, to play music off a memory card etc.  I don't want to get rid of the originality but want the up to date functionality!  I thought maybe using the blanks just above the head unit to install connections might work?  If it does, can the head unit 'choose' between radio, CD or AUX?

Thanks!

Yeah, either the original one:

or the later multi input version:

Both take over the CD changer input so you lose that but gain being able to add other inputs.
