Hi All,
A bit late as I have already placed my order but was wondering whether this was a good deal?
Brand new Golf GTI DSG 5dr with performance pack in carbon grey, 19's, car-net, parking pack and 90% tints.
Managed to get it for 27k after VW 2k deposit contribution.
Cheers.

Not sure what deals other people managed but I know what I paid, and your's sounds a good deal considering the spec
-
Yeah I was surprised. It beat any offer from carwow by at least about a grand. It may be because the car is already at the docks but it's the exact spec I wanted other than the 90% tints. Can't wait! Only question is do I wait till September for new plates.

Hi. Noticed your pics in another thread. Looks really nice. Have you got the 90% tints on yours?
-
Nice spec.
Have you tried the deal, I found them about £800 cheaper on the mother in laws Ford EcoSport she wanted.

No just standard tints. I did consider the 90% tints but I'm really glad I didn't spec them as I find the standard tints nigh on perfect.

I agree 90% may suit some colours I went for the standards on the rear and had the fronts done at 40% nigh on a perfect match

What are thoughts on waiting for 66 plate? Dealer reckons it will be here in 2-3 weeks. Get 16 plate or wait a couple of weeks?
-
Were you born in '66? If so it might be nice to have something meaningful to you. Otherwise I wouldn't bother.
-
Buy a private plate, then the 16/66 plate won't matter.

If you're buying it i'd wait. A 66 plate is going to be worth more than a late 16 plate that'll be 3 weeks older but will look 6 months older when the new plate is out. You should see at least £700 more for it if sold privately or traded in when you get shot of it. I'd wait.

Yeah this is what I was thinking. Thought the difference would be less though. Will test my willpower in a couple of weeks!

It may be as much as a grand, but will certainly be at least half the difference between a March 16 and a September 66 plate. If there was 2 months to wait i'd say go get it, but for a matter of 2 weeks, i'd wait.

Can anybody confirm if there is still a vw loyalty bonus for current owners. Just spoken to the vw clown at my local dealer who denied any existance if such a thing, past or present.
-
It must have stopped as there is no mention of it anywhere.

Deadline for orders was the end of June, deadline for delivery and redemption of the offer is 9th Sept.

Going back to the voluntary hand back. My GTD PCP is due to expire end of the month. I can exercise my right to end no later than 20 August. Anyone ever done this how 'harshly' do they scrutinise the car on hand back? This option means no payment for excess mileage but a scuffed alloy may be charged for. Also given that I will need to rent a car in the interim between handing back and my new R coming.
Other alternative is to hand it back at the end of the term and pay approximately 500 for mileage excess. My issue is I have a scuffed front left alloy. The rest of the car will be polished and scratch free.
In a nutshell what will be the cheapest option.

If you are concerned and have the time, get a smart repair, rather than full refurb on the scuffed wheel.
If it is too much hassle, then take the chance they make you pay up for the damaged wheel.
