Not sure of the ethics of mentioning other forums on here, so not going to post a link, but, if you google golfmk7 and then do a search on the obvious forum, you will find a few useful threads. OBD11 is quite big in the US and Aus, but a few of the regular posters are also on here, so I guess one of them will be along soon.

Not quite sure about the relationship of OBD11 with VW or Rosstech, who make the, far more expensive, VCDS tool, but, it is cheap and it seems to work very well. Let us know how you go on.

I got one a few weeks ago. It works great, just make sure you go pro. Plus you need a good internet connection on your phone while using it.

Been using it for months, this is a list of things I have done so far....

Headlight washer frequency increased to 15 before it triggers

Foglights turn on with "Main beam"

Foglights and DRL as CH/L lights

Disable start/stop

Rain closing

Kencha/Pace car Indicators

Front DRLs flash in opposite phase to indicators

Fan speed in "Auto" AC

Fuel refuel amount

Puddle lights on as mirrors unfold

Comfort indicators increased from 3 to 4 blinks

Scandinavian Mod (rear lights and full brightness frnt DRL's)

DLR control on menu

Driving School mode

AC set to warm country setting.

It is where the main display shows your speed and the direction indicators.

Can you get it to work?
I enabled it on mine but couldn't get the speed to go live.

Yes, all working fine, I used long coding for all of them the only one I used an app on was the DRL control on menu.

I am considering one, especially since RossTech are stating that for MY2016+ some features may only be available through Hex-Net which is a lot pricier.

My questions about the OBDEleven were:

1) Can you data log ignition values (timing advance etc.) and boost real time?

2) The accessible options are standard pre-defined ones or you can transfer info from VCDS guides and access stuff that are not originally there with coding?

I got one of these last year but have never been able to get it to work with my car. When I try scanning the car the software just hangs on me so I have never been able to use it. Shame, cos there are some nice little tweaks that I would like to do.

Thought it was OBDII.ie OBD 2. (the II is roman numerals) as a progresson from OBD.
