I'm looking for a headlining for a mk2 gti 5dr with sunroof. I know they are hard to find nowadays! If not, any ideas of what to use as a good replacement?

Ive just religned mine. Theres a how to on here that tells ulyou what material and such. Took me a week of looking at it til I tackled it though. Fragile things

Hi lemski, thanks for quick reply! The thing is I need a headlining to begin with, recently bought another mk2 and the chap who had it before me chucked the headlining because it snapped! I would like an original headlining, if not then something similar would work

Im with you.
Theres a person on Facebook who breaks mk2s, but as you proballyknow when removing them they normally break, ive had 1 out of 8 that didnt

Ah, thanks! I'll check them out see if they have one. They do tend to break too easily.

If you have the pieces and relign the rooflining it strengthens it back up. Some people fibre class the back where it breaks.

Ah really? That's a good idea! The cosmetic look isn't too important as I am probably going to cover it with a pattern or picture to make it look a bit different anyway.

VW Heritage have just started selling GTI headlining material...could be worth a look. :smiley:
