Title: reluctance to accelerate in high gears (mk6 GTI)
Post by: The ANT on 22 June 2016, 12:23
When accelerating hard in high gears the car accelerates then briefly stops accelerating then accelerates again then a second or so later it stops accelerating again, this repeats until you get into higher revs then all becomes smooth.

My car has a pipercross induction kit and has been remapped, any advice is welcome, thanks.

Sounds like clutch slip to me.

My experience of clutch slip is when the revs rise and the acceleration doesn't increase at anywhere near the same rate.

It's like the throttle closes briefly

I'm not sure that's clutch slip

Probably not a clutch-slip and is a "side-effect" of the remap. I have same due to Bluefin

Agreed, that would be my thoughts on clutch slip too

doesnt sound like clutch slip. agree with people above. The map may be off with the air, fuel and boost request at the low rev range. Have you put back on the standard air box and tried it?
